( ) The numbers in parentheses after the title of a policy refer to the legal reference in the Code of Iowa.

Although the majority of exhibits which are a part of some policies, are included, some are not due to layout constraints. Complete Board Policy Books are available at the Administrative Office, each attendance center, and the Urbandale Public Library.

The Urbandale Community School District, starting with the 2002-2003 school year, went to a five year cycle for policy and handbook review. The cycle is as follows:

Year 1: 500-Student Personnel/Administrative Documents/At-Risk Documents
Year 2: 600-Educational Program, 700-Auxiliary Services, 100-Educational Philosophy, Hazardous chemical training, special education, meal programs
Year 3: 800-Business Procedures, 900-Building and Sites, handbooks on business procedures
Year 4: 1000-School & Community Relations, 200-Board of Directors
Year 5: 300-Administration, 400-Staff Personnel, job descriptions, employee handbooks
